about

Winter Winds - Amy Papiransky PRS/MCPS

Moving away from my home town Keith at 18 and leaving those few toxic people behind...

lyrics

Verse1
Well this sky is like a rose stain, so pink for the winter winds.
And my bones they start to ache now as I feel all kinds of things.

Verse 2
Your eyes shape out the high hills, as they look me up and down,
I’ve seen the day when I’d have cared so but I don’t now cause I’m gone, I’ve left this town.

Chorus:
Oh Mary, Mary quite contrary,
I understand that this change is quite scary but the rivers still run the same.
You’ll fall down once, you’ll fall down twice,
meet devils in the dark who at first seem really nice,
but all of these things are what life brings.

Verse 3
Now you’re grey and on the bar stool, smell of beer and cigarettes.
Your independence has long gone baby, you’re stuck here and there’s never going back.

Bridge
But when the rain comes, the land it will flood,
the moon will appear and your bones and your blood
will pull through.. but who even are you.

Chorus
Oh Mary, Mary quite contrary,
I understand that this change is quite scary but the rivers still run the same.
You’ll fall down once, you’ll fall down twice,
meet devils in the dark who at first seem really nice,
but all of these things , yes all of these things, yeah all of these things…
are what life brings.
